TO ALL MY IMMEDIATE FAMILY, FRIENDS AND COBRA FAMILY!!!
I would like to thank each of you for your visits, phone calls, cards and most of all prayers for my recovery. I will forever walk the earth with humility and gratitude.
I know I will be represented at the St. Patrick’s Day Parade with style, elegance and respect. Even though I will not be there in body I will be with you spiritually and in my room watching you with my whistle in my mouth.
To the drill team, I want to commend you for your loyalty in my absence and the respect you have shown Don, my staff, chaperones and volunteers.
To the alumni’s, don’t think your coming back together has been in vain. Keep watching the website, media and newspapers of when we will come together again. This is not it! We will organize our alumni chapter as soon as my health permits.
While I lay here, I always keep 2 things in mind and I want you to also, “A winner never quits, a quitter never wins, together we stand, divided we fall, all for one, one for all-Once a Cobra, always a Cobra”.
I LOVE EACH OF YOU….
Willie Arthur Smith, “Dad”, “Grandpa”
